Silicon Valley Strikers Claim Inaugural Title

AMERICAN CRICKET HISTORY WAS MADE IN 2021, WITH THE MOST EXTENSIVE HIGH-LEVEL CRICKET COMPETITION TO EVER TAKE PLACE IN THE UNITED STATES WON BY THE SILICON VALLEY STRIKERS

The inaugural Toyota Minor League Cricket Championship presented by SLING TV saw more than 200 matches take place over ten weekends of action, with 27 teams featuring the best cricketers in the United States.

The Silicon Valley Strikers claimed the championship with victory in front of thousands of fans at scenic Church Street Park in Morrisville, NC, defeating the New Jersey Stallions by six wickets. Captain Unmukt Chand became the first player to lift the Toyota Minor League Cricket Championship trophy.

In the 2021 season, 27 teams competed across four geographic divisions – Eastern, Central, Southern and Western – with the opening weekend of matches taking place July 31 to Aug. 1. Ten weekends of competitive play concluded with the MiLC Finals Weekend in early October.

Minor League Cricket is the only nationwide tournament involving the strongest male players playing against each other at the best available facilities and forms a critical part of the evolving USA Cricket domestic cricket structure and pathway. The primary aim of the tournament is to give a platform and opportunity for the best cricketers in America to showcase their abilities at a national level and build cricket communities across the country.

Minor League Cricket will return in 2022 for a second season of exciting play, please stay tuned for further details!
